Hi everybody So my name is Chris and…

Hi everybody,

So my name is Chris and I’m a full time back end web developer, working primarily with Magento and WordPress. I met @jchristopher through a local developers get together. @jchristopher introduced me to @sc0ttkclark and I’m hoping to start doing some work developing Pods.  It’s kind of a funny story actually,  I had used Pods on a slew of projects and after reading @jchristopher’s monday-by-noon articles and after groking Pods’ power  its became sort of my go to plug-in whenever i need to do anything out side the realm of posts and pages.  Little did i know at the time jc was a local developer – I was introduced by my manager and we hit it off. Anyways my sojourn as a full time code monkey is coming to an end as I go back to school in the fall and this summer I’m going to have a bunch of free time.  Like everybody else I’ve benefited immensely from all the free open-source resources out on the web and for the last couple of months I’ve really wanted to start giving back.  I was chatting with jc about it the other day and Pods seems like a perfect opportunity to do just that.

For now I’m going to be working through the source, talking to @sc0ttkclark and seeing where I can fit in from a development perspective. Then towards the end of May beginning of June I’m hoping to start using my free time to crush tickets and code features.

Speaking of giving back this has finally propelled me to set up a little blog of my own to share experiences and code snippets from the front line. Its still a little rough around the edges,  but the first post is all about harnessing the linux command line to speed up creating a testing and development environment for Pods.  Its length kind of got away from me and I don’t want to clutter things up here but if you’re interested you can find it here. Its nice to meet everyone,  see you out there!

/Chris

  1. We’re more than happy to have you on board, Chris! Once we hit 2.0 things are likely going to ramp up like crazy and to have someone like you contributing will be a great asset.
