I think for the most part, active community members stay active for quite a while, in some cases they fade away into other projects but we should really utilize those who have passion for Pods and have time to contribute. Even if it’s a patch here and a patch there, we could facilitate this better by including them officially within the development process.
So we currently have ‘Core Developers’, but perhaps we could have another level below in which developers can contribute code to Pods via Google SVN and once they ‘make the gravy’ then they get ‘upgraded’ to Core Developer status. Not sure on the exact phrasing of their status, but it would definitely we cool to have them aboard.
Some possible inclusions into this new access: Kyle Jones (thecoarkboard), and Chris Carvache (chriscarvache).
Kyle has put a lot of effort into the UI comps for the Pods 2.0 UI revitalization portion, and Chris has been doing an outstanding job contributing help in the QnA as well as has been working on extending Pods further with additional features that I’d say could fit nicely in core themselves.
Anyone have any thoughts?
