I think we really need to drop NicEdit in favor of a different ‘light-weight’ editor that’s actively maintained.

I’m voting for CLEditor, it’s even smaller than NicEdit, and it’s used by @scribu in his Front-end Editor plugin. We can likely review his plugin and determine how best to implement within Pods based on what he was able to figure out.
