Still deciding whether the next version should be 1.9.9 or 1.10, but so far the updates include merging Pods UI into Pods core, so now you no longer need two separate plugins; and TinyMCE is now the default editor while in WP Admin manage pages, publicForm still uses nicEdit by default outside the admin area to avoid causing issues with sites for now. You may still use the TinyMCE for Pods package for customizing size or including the media bar, but in 2.0 there will be actual UI options in the field settings which you can define these types of settings directly without needing helpers. In addition to these, there are a few bug fixes in there too.
